The Region 1 (Alaska Schools Activities Association) board governs all member schools in northern and western Alaska. It covers the entire North Slope region, all western Alaska school districts and continues down through the Aleutian Islands. It encompasses more than a half million square miles, 93 schools and 18 school districts. It’s mission is to serve it’s member schools and students through oversight of high school extracurricular activities.
